You Can Start Over
Maybe you're reading this on your lunch break between shifts.
Or in a hospital room while someone you love is sleeping.
Maybe you're sitting alone in a place that doesn't feel safe, wondering if there's any hope left for you.
Here's the truth: No matter what you've done, where you've been, or how far you think you've fallen, you can have a fresh start.
Not because you've earned it.
Not because you can fix yourself.
But because Jesus already paid for it.
That's what salvation is.
And today, we're going to talk about the most important truth you'll ever encounter: how to be saved by Jesus and what that really means.
What Salvation Actually Means
Salvation isn't religious jargon.
It's not about jumping through hoops or being good enough.
Salvation is God's rescue plan for you.
The Bible tells us that all of us, every single person, have sinned and fallen short of God's standard (Romans 3:23). That sin separates us from God. It leaves us broken, guilty, and facing consequences we can't escape on our own.
But God didn't leave us there.
He sent Jesus.
Jesus came to bridge the gap we couldn't cross. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and rose again three days later, defeating death itself.
That's the heart of salvation: Jesus did what we could never do.
He made a way when there was no way.

The Meaning of Grace in the Bible
Here's where it gets beautiful.
You might think, "Okay, but what do I have to do to earn this salvation?"
The answer? Nothing.
That's grace.
Grace means getting something you don't deserve and could never earn. It's God's unmerited favor poured out on us: not because we're good enough, but because He loves us that much.
Ephesians 2:8-9 puts it plainly:
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith: and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God: not by works, so that no one can boast."
Read that again.
Salvation is a gift.
You can't buy it with good behavior. You can't work your way to heaven. You can't earn God's love by being religious enough or moral enough.
Grace means Jesus offers you salvation freely: and all you have to do is receive it.
It's like someone handing you the keys to a new life and saying, "This is yours. I already paid for it. Just take it."
How to Be Saved by Jesus
So how does this actually work?
How do you go from broken to forgiven? From lost to found?
The Bible gives us a clear path:
1. Believe in Jesus
Salvation starts with faith.
Not just believing about Jesus: but believing in Him. Trusting that He is who He says He is: the Son of God, the Savior of the world, the only way to the Father.
John 3:16 says it best:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Whoever. That includes you.
2. Repent: Turn Away From Your Old Life
Repentance isn't about being perfect.
It's about changing direction.
It means acknowledging that you've been living your own way instead of God's way: and choosing to turn around.
You admit your need for a Savior. You stop trying to be your own god. You surrender control and say, "Jesus, I need You. I can't do this on my own."
3. Confess Jesus as Lord
Romans 10:9-10 gives us this promise:
"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
Salvation happens when you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth.
You don't need fancy words. You just need honesty.

How to Start a Relationship with God
Salvation isn't just a one-time transaction.
It's the beginning of a relationship.
When you accept Jesus, you're not just avoiding hell: you're gaining a Father. You're stepping into a lifelong journey of knowing God, growing in faith, and becoming who He created you to be.
Here's how that relationship starts:
Talk to Him
Prayer isn't complicated. It's just talking to God like you would a trusted friend.
Tell Him what's on your heart. Ask Him for help. Thank Him for His grace.
He's not looking for perfect prayers. He's looking for real ones.
Read His Word
The Bible is how God speaks to you.
Start with the Gospel of John. Read a little each day. Let His truth sink in.
As you read, you'll start to understand His heart, His promises, and His plan for your life.
Connect with Other Believers
You weren't meant to do this alone.
Faith grows in community. Find others who are following Jesus: whether that's online, in your neighborhood, or right here at Boundless Online Church.
We're here for you, no matter where you are or what shift you're working.
A Prayer to Receive Salvation
If you're ready to accept Jesus and start fresh today, here's a simple prayer you can pray:
"Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I've been living my own way, and I'm sorry. I need You. Today, I turn away from my old life and choose to follow You. Forgive me. Save me. Make me new. I receive Your gift of grace. Thank You for loving me. Amen."
If you just prayed that prayer: welcome to the family.
Your fresh start begins now.
What Happens Next?
Here's what you need to know:
You are forgiven. God sees you through Jesus now: completely clean, fully loved, forever His.
You are saved. Not because of anything you did, but because of what Jesus did.
You have eternal life. Death is no longer the end. Heaven is your home.
And here on earth? You have purpose. You have hope. You have a God who walks with you every single day.
