Bible Study : Virtual Community : Real Global Stories of Faith

A Message from FA Memphis

If you’re exploring faith (or coming back to it), a virtual church community can help you build real relationships, learn the Bible at your pace, and find prayer support—no matter where you live. Online connection isn’t “less than.” God meets people right where they are, and community can still be personal and life-giving.

Bible Verses

  • Matthew 18:20 – "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

  • Romans 12:5 – "So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another."

  • Mark 16:15 – "And He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.'"

  • Hebrews 10:24-25 – "And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together..."

Explanation (Seeker-Sensitive + Real-Life)

Welcome home. If you’ve been looking for community but you’re not sure where you fit, I want you to hear this clearly: you’re not disqualified because you’re new, skeptical, busy, anxious, recovering, or still figuring out what you believe.

A virtual church community can be a simple next step. For some people it’s a first step back into faith. For others it’s the only way to connect right now. Either way, it can be real.

Here’s what makes online community actually work:

1) You can belong before you “have it all together.” You don’t have to know all the Christian words. You don’t have to pretend. You can listen, learn, ask questions, and take your time.

2) You can be known, not just “watch.” Healthy online church isn’t just content. It’s connection—prayer, conversation, and people who notice when you show up (and when you’re struggling).

3) You can grow at a steady pace. Some seasons you can join live. Some seasons you can only catch up later. God can use both. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s direction.

4) You can stay grounded in truth while staying kind to seekers. I want to be very clear and very gentle here: Assemblies of God worldview IS the guardrails. That means I’m going to keep pointing you to Jesus—His death and resurrection, His saving grace, and His power to transform lives—without shaming you for being on a journey.

Real global stories of faith usually look ordinary at first: someone opens a Bible for the first time in years, someone finally asks for prayer, someone finds the courage to forgive, someone chooses hope again. God loves to meet people in those moments.

Navigating the Digital World Safely

If you’re going to grow online, it helps to protect your heart and your home while you do it. When I’m looking for movies or media for my family, I always point people toward family-safe, clean versions via VidAngel or Enjoy Movies Your Way.

And because we spend so much time online, I also recommend accountability and safety tools like Bark and Covenant Eyes. Guarding what we take in is a practical way to strengthen your walk with Jesus—especially in a digital-first world.
