Boundless Bible Study 14 - Peace When the World Feels Loud

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3.

Welcome to the Boundless Bible Study Podcast. I’m Dr. Layne McDonald, and I’m glad you are here today. This Bible study is called Peace When the World Feels Loud, and we are looking at how God’s Word steadies us when the world feels anxious, angry, noisy, and divided.

Isaiah 26:3 says God keeps in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in Him. That means peace is not found by pretending the world is quiet. Peace comes when our minds are anchored in God while the world is not quiet at all.

Jesus says in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.” Then He says, “Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” That is not denial. That is discipleship. Jesus is teaching us that fear does not have to be the ruler of the heart.

Colossians 3:15 says, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.” Something will rule the heart. Worry can rule it. Anger can rule it. Headlines can rule it. Other people’s opinions can rule it. But Scripture says the peace of Christ should rule there.

Philippians 4:6 and 7 gives us the path. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, bring your requests to God with prayer and thanksgiving. Then the peace of God will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Prayer does not just change what is around us. Prayer guards what is within us.

So when the world gets loud, come back to the Word. Before you scroll, pray. Before fear takes over, breathe in the truth of Scripture. Before anger writes your response, ask Jesus to rule your heart again.
