A Message from FA Memphis
At Boundless Online Church, we celebrate the greatness of our God. He is the anchor for our souls in every season. In a world where things seem to change as fast as the weather, having a "Steady Foundation" isn't just a nice idea, it’s everything.
Today, we are diving into a core truth that keeps us grounded. Whether you are sitting around the breakfast table or winding down for the evening, let these words remind you that you are held by the One who never shifts.
Truth #2: The One True God
Scripture: "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one." , Deuteronomy 6:4
Reflection: In a world that feels busy and often confusing, there is a beautiful simplicity in knowing that there is only one true God. He is the "I AM", He has always been here, and He always will be. He reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
When we tell our children that God is "one," we are giving them a steady anchor. Think about a compass. No matter where you stand in the world, the needle points to the same North. God is our True North. No matter what changes around us, new schools, moving houses, or even just a bad day, God stays the same. He is the Creator who knows the stars by name and the Father who knows every hair on our heads.
As an Assemblies of God family, we believe in the Trinity, one God in three persons. It’s a big mystery, isn’t it? But it’s a beautiful one. It means God is a family within Himself, and He invites us into that love.
Action: During a meal today, take a moment of silence together. Encourage everyone to simply think about how big and good God is, then share one thing you love about Him.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we praise You for being the one true God. Thank You for Your consistency and Your great love. We trust You to lead our family today and always. Amen.
Family Question: What is one way you saw God’s power or beauty in the world today?

Walk & Wonder: The Lighthouse in the Living Room (A Story for Kids)
The wind howled outside Leo’s window. It sounded like a giant whistling through the trees. Leo pulled his blanket up to his chin. He liked the rain, but the thunder made his tummy feel a little fluttery, like a trapped butterfly.
"Dad?" Leo called out.
A moment later, his dad appeared in the doorway, holding two flashlights and a very old, very heavy book. "Hey, buddy. The storm is a bit loud tonight, isn't it?"
Leo nodded. "Is the house going to shake?"
Dad sat on the edge of the bed and clicked on a flashlight, pointing it at the ceiling. "Do you remember when we watched the workers pour the concrete for the new garage next door? They dug deep, deep into the ground and filled it with heavy stone and cement. Our house is built on a foundation just like that. It’s tucked into the earth so tightly that the wind can whistle all it wants, but the house stays still."
Leo relaxed a little. "Like a lighthouse?"
"Exactly like a lighthouse," Dad said. "And did you know that God is like that foundation? The Bible says He is the 'One True God.' That means there isn't anyone else like Him. He doesn't get scared of the storms, and He doesn't change His mind about loving us."
Dad opened the heavy book. It was a Bible. He read a verse that sounded like music: "The Lord our God, the Lord is one."
"One God," Leo whispered. "Not a hundred?"
"Nope," Dad laughed gently. "Just one. One God who is strong enough to hold the whole world, but kind enough to listen to you right now. He is our Father, He is Jesus our Savior, and He is the Holy Spirit who stays right here in our hearts. Three-in-one, like a team that never loses."
Leo looked at the flashlight beam on the ceiling. It was steady and bright. "I think I’m going to imagine God is the giant rock under my bed tonight."
Dad tucked the covers in tight. "That’s a great plan, Leo. He’s the steadiest rock there is."
As Leo drifted off to sleep, the thunder didn't seem quite so loud anymore. He knew that no matter how much the wind blew, he was resting on something that would never move.

The Chronicles of Carehaven – Chapter 4: The Anchor in the Mist
The misty woods of Carehaven were usually filled with the sound of singing birds and bubbling brooks. But today, a strange, silver fog had rolled in, making everything look different. Finny the Fox and Pip the Sparrow stood at the edge of the Great Clearing.
"I can't see the Big Oak," Finny whispered, his tail drooping. "If I can't see the Oak, how do I know which way is home?"
Pip hovered near Finny’s ear. "We just have to find the Anchor Stone, Finny! Remember what the Elder Owl told us? The Anchor Stone never moves, even when the mist is thick."
They crept forward, paws and wings moving slowly through the cool fog. Everything felt uncertain. Every tree looked like a ghost. But then, Finny’s paw bumped into something cold and hard. He brushed away the moss. There it was, a massive stone shaped like a shield, etched with a single glowing star.
"The Anchor Stone!" Pip chirped.
They sat by the stone, and as they touched it, the fear began to melt away. The stone was solid. It didn't matter that the mist was hiding the path; the stone was right where it was supposed to be.
"The Elder says this stone reminds us of the One who made Carehaven," Finny said, leaning his back against the cool surface. "He’s the only one who knows the way through the fog."
Just then, a light began to glow from the center of the stone. It wasn't a bright flash, but a warm, golden hum. It cut right through the silver mist, showing them a clear path back to the burrow.
"He is one," Pip sang softly. "One King, one path, one heart."
Finny stood up, his tail held high. "Let's go home, Pip. The mist can't stop us now."
Parenting Tips: Building on the Rock
Talking to children about the "Oneness" of God and the Trinity can feel like trying to explain quantum physics to a toddler. But it doesn’t have to be complicated! Here are a few ways to keep the foundation steady in your home:
Use Simple Analogies (Carefully): While no analogy is perfect, children often relate to the "Three-in-One" concept through nature. Think of water: it can be liquid, ice, or steam, but it is always H2O. Or an apple: it has the skin, the flesh, and the seeds, but it is one apple.
Focus on Character: Instead of getting stuck on the math of the Trinity, talk about God's character. Remind your kids that God is consistent. If He was kind in the Bible, He is kind today. If He was powerful then, He is powerful now.
Create a "God Sightings" Jar: To help kids see God's power and beauty (our family question today!), keep a jar on the counter. Every time someone sees something beautiful in nature or experiences a "God-moment," write it on a slip of paper and drop it in. On Sundays, read them together.
Consistency is Key: Your children see God through your consistency. When we keep our word and provide a stable environment, we are modeling the "Steady Foundation" of our Heavenly Father.

Hands-On Faith: The Family Foundation Stone
This is a low-cost, high-impact craft to help reinforce the idea of God as our steady foundation.
What You’ll Need:
A large, smooth rock for each family member (you can find these in your backyard or at a local park).
Acrylic paints or permanent markers.
Clear sealant (optional).
The Activity:
The Hunt: Go on a "Rock Walk" together. Look for the strongest, sturdiest rocks you can find. As you walk, talk about how rocks don't change shape easily.
The Decoration: Once home, wash the rocks and let them dry. On one side, write the word "ONE" or "STEADY." On the other side, let each child draw something that reminds them of God’s love (a heart, a sun, a cross).
The Script: While you paint, say this to your kids: "Just like this rock is hard and stays the same, God is our one true foundation. When things feel shaky, we can remember that He is the only God, and He is always holding us."
The Placement: Place these rocks in a "Foundation Garden" near your front door or on a windowsill. Every time you leave the house, touch the rock as a reminder that the One True God goes with you.
Closing Thoughts
Life will always have its storms. The news might be heavy, the schedule might be packed, and the "mist" might roll in. But we don't have to be afraid. We serve the One True God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is your steady foundation.
