If you’re reading this while lying in bed because your body won’t let you stand today, or if you’re sitting in a chair that has become your entire world, I want you to know something right away: you are seen.
Living with chronic pain or a long-term disability isn’t just a physical battle. It’s a spiritual and emotional one, too. When the world feels like it’s moving at a hundred miles an hour and you’re stuck in a holding pattern of doctor’s appointments, medications, and "bad days," it’s easy to feel disconnected. You might feel like your faith is being tested in a way that others don’t quite understand.
But here’s the beautiful truth we’re leaning into today: God’s presence doesn’t have a physical attendance requirement. In our "Unlimited Access" series, we’re exploring the reality that the door to the Father is always open, even when your front door is one you can’t easily walk through.
The Myth of the "Perfect" Christian Life
We’ve all seen the images of what a "vibrant" faith is supposed to look like. It’s usually someone standing on a stage, running a marathon for a cause, or sitting in a crowded church pew with a wide smile. While those things are great, they aren’t the only way to experience the fullness of Christ.
When you live with chronic pain, your "vibrant" faith might look like whispering a prayer through gritted teeth. It might look like listening to Sunday Live Worship through headphones because the lights in the room are too bright for your migraine.
Jesus is often called the Great Physician. We believe in His power to heal, it’s one of our core beliefs that divine healing is provided for all in the atonement. But we also know that we live in a broken world where bodies fail. If you haven't received the physical healing you've been praying for yet, it doesn’t mean your faith is small. It doesn’t mean God is distant.
In fact, some of the most profound "unlimited access" to God happens in the quiet, painful moments where it’s just you and Him.
When Your Strength Fails, His Doesn’t
The Apostle Paul knew a thing or two about living with a physical "thorn." He begged God to take it away, three times, specifically. But God’s response is the anchor for anyone dealing with long-term recovery or disability:
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9)
This isn’t just a nice sentiment for a greeting card. It’s a spiritual law. When we reach the end of our own strength, which happens pretty quickly when you’re dealing with chronic illness, we tap into a reservoir of strength that doesn't belong to us.
At Boundless Online Church, we help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online. We do this because we know that "church" isn't a building you go to; it's a family you belong to. Whether you are a caregiver exhausted from the 24/7 demands of looking after a loved one, or you are the one navigating a new diagnosis, you have a seat at this table.

Unlimited Access from Your Living Room
One of the hardest parts of chronic pain is the isolation. When you can’t make it to a physical building, you start to feel like you’re missing out on the "real" move of God.
But think about the Gospel for a second. Jesus didn’t stay in the temple waiting for people to come to Him. He went to the bedside of the sick. He met people on the dusty roads. He reached out to those who were "unclean" and isolated by their conditions.
Today, technology allows us to experience that same proximity. You have unlimited access to the Word, to worship, and to community. You don't have to "get dressed up" to meet with God. He meets you in your pajamas. He meets you in the hospital room. He meets you in the middle of the night when the pain won't let you sleep.
If you’re looking for a way to stay grounded, check out The Boundless Daily. It’s designed to be a quick, accessible way to keep your mind on the truth when your body is screaming something else.
To the Caregivers: You Are Not Forgotten
We also want to speak to the caregivers. Whether you’re a spouse, a parent, or a friend, providing long-term care is a heavy mantle. It’s easy to pour yourself out until there’s nothing left.
You might feel guilty for feeling tired or frustrated. Please hear this: God sees your sacrifice. Your service is a literal hands-and-feet representation of the Gospel. But you cannot pour from an empty cup.
Finding a community where you can be honest about your struggles is vital. You don't have to pretend everything is fine. We invite you to join our Groups to find others who understand the unique rhythm of a life centered around caregiving. You need a space where you are cared for, too.
Practical Steps When the Pain is High
How do we practically live out this "unlimited access" when the physical toll is heavy?
Redefine "Quiet Time": If you can’t focus on reading a physical Bible, listen to an audio version. God’s Word is just as sharp when it enters through your ears as it is through your eyes.
Use Your Voice (Even if it's a Whisper): Worship is a weapon. It shifts our perspective from our limitations to God’s limitlessness. Even a simple "Jesus, I trust You" is a powerful act of worship.
Lean on the Prayer Wall: You don't have to carry the burden alone. Post a request on our Prayer Wall and let your global family stand in the gap for you.
Accept Grace: Some days, your "spiritual growth" will just be surviving the day with a heart that stays turned toward God. That is enough.

The Hope of the Great Physician
We serve a God who heals. We pray for healing because we believe in a Jesus who still does miracles. But we also serve a God who sustains.
If you are in a season of waiting: waiting for a diagnosis, waiting for a surgery, or waiting for a miracle: know that the waiting room is not a godless room. Christ is right there with you. He is the Great Physician who cares for your soul just as much as your joints, your nerves, and your heart.
Our mission is simple: We help people meet Jesus and grow in faith online. We believe that no matter your physical condition, your spiritual potential is boundless. Your life has immense value, and your story of perseverance is a light to everyone around you.
Let’s Walk This Together
You don't have to navigate chronic pain or disability in the dark. We are a community of seekers, believers, and overcomers who recognize that our strength comes from a source that never runs dry.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed today, or if you just need someone to agree with you in prayer, we’re here. You are part of a global family that isn't limited by zip codes or physical ability.
