The 'One True God' means that your life is anchored in the Creator who is eternally self-existent and is revealed in the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This foundation provides ultimate security, defining your identity not by worldly standards, but by the unchanging nature of a God who has always been and always will be, inviting you into a personal relationship.
Bible Verses to Consider
Deuteronomy 6:4: "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one."
Isaiah 43:10: "'You are my witnesses,' declares the Lord, 'and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.'"
Matthew 28:19: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
Exodus 3:14: "God said to Moses, 'I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: "I AM has sent me to you."'"
What Does the 'One True God' Actually Mean?
When we talk about the "One True God," it can sometimes feel like a heavy, theological term that belongs in a dusty textbook. But at Boundless Online Church, we believe this truth is the most practical, life-changing anchor you can have.
According to the Assemblies of God 16 Fundamental Truths (specifically Truth #2), the one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent “I AM.” He isn't just a force or a vague "higher power." He is the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind.
But what does that mean for you on a Tuesday morning when the coffee is cold and the bills are piling up?
It means you aren't an accident. It means the One who started everything: the One who doesn't have a beginning or an end: knows your name.

Anchored in the "I AM"
Most things in our lives are dependent on something else. Your car depends on gas. Your phone depends on a battery. Your mood might even depend on how many likes you got on your last post.
God is the only being who is "self-existent." He doesn't need anything to survive. He doesn't need us to "power Him up." Because He is the source of all life, He is the only one strong enough to hold the weight of your life.
When you recognize Him as the One True God, you stop trying to find ultimate security in things that can break, leave, or fail. You start building your house on the Rock. If you've ever felt like the world is shifting under your feet, understanding God as the "I AM" gives you a place to stand that never moves.
The Mystery of the Trinity: Relationship at the Core
We also believe this One True God is revealed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
If that sounds confusing, you’re in good company! Even the greatest scholars find the Trinity a beautiful mystery. But here is the "why" behind the "what": Because God exists as a Trinity, it means that at His very core, God is relational.
Before the world was ever made, there was love and communication between the Father, Son, and Spirit. This means you were created by a God who is relationship. He didn't create you because He was lonely; He created you to invite you into the fellowship He already has.
This changes how we look at our own relationships and our community. Whether you are part of a Bible study for men or a digital training group, we reflect the heart of the One True God when we live in community with one another.

Exclusive Allegiance in a Busy World
In the ancient world, people worshipped hundreds of different gods: gods for rain, gods for war, gods for crops. Today, we might not have stone statues in our living rooms, but we still struggle with "idols." We look to money, career success, or even our own families to give us the worth and security that only the One True God can provide.
The meaning of the One True God for your life is a call to exclusive allegiance. It’s God saying, "I love you enough to want all of you."
When we give Him our primary devotion, everything else in life starts to fall into its proper place. Money becomes a tool rather than a master. Success becomes a way to serve rather than a way to prove our worth. Even our hardest questions: like where is God when it hurts?: find a different perspective when we realize we are talking to a personal, loving Creator.
A Personal God Who Knows Your Story
One of the most incredible things about the One True God is that He is personal. He isn't a distant watchmaker who wound up the world and then walked away. He is involved.
Because He is the One True God, He has the authority to define who you are. The world might tell you that you are defined by your past mistakes, your job title, or your bank account. But the Creator says you are His child, redeemed and called for a purpose.
This truth is the foundation of everything we do, from our podcasts to our Sunday live worship. We aren't just sharing information; we are helping people meet a Person.

How Does This Change Your Daily Life?
So, how do you walk this out?
Trust His Sovereignty: If He is the only God, then He is in control. You can exhale. You don't have to carry the weight of the universe on your shoulders.
Seek His Voice: Since He is a personal God, He wants to talk to you. Spend time in His Word. Join a Bible study club to hear how He is speaking to others too.
Live with Purpose: If you were made by the One True God, your life isn't a series of random events. There is a plan and a mission for you.
Whether you are navigating the challenges of being a caregiver or looking for hope in Memphis, the reality of the One True God provides a compass for every season.
A Short Prayer for You
Lord, thank You for being the One True God. Thank You that You are not distant, but that You have revealed Yourself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Help me to anchor my life in Your truth today. When I feel overwhelmed by the "gods" of this world: stress, fear, or pride: remind me that You alone are the I AM. I choose to trust in Your unchanging nature and Your perfect love. Amen.
