The Boundless Daily: Day 3 , Who Is Jesus? (More Than a Teacher)

Hey there.

Welcome back to Day 3 of The Boundless Daily.

Today's question is the biggest one we'll ever ask: Who is Jesus?

Not what did He teach.

Not what movement did He start.

But who is He, really?

Because here's the thing: a lot of people are fine calling Jesus a good teacher. A wise prophet. An inspiring leader.

But Jesus didn't leave that option on the table.

More Than Words on a Page

If Jesus were just a teacher, we could take His advice or leave it.

Pick the parts we like. Skip the uncomfortable stuff.

But that's not who He claimed to be.

In John 10:30, Jesus said something that rocked the ancient world: "I and the Father are one."

Not similar. Not aligned.

One.

The religious leaders of His day understood exactly what He meant. They picked up stones to kill Him for blasphemy, because He was claiming to be God.

Either Jesus was telling the truth, or He was making the most outrageous claim in human history.

There's no middle ground here.

The Deity of Jesus Christ

This is what we call the adorable deity of Christ, one of the foundational truths of the Christian faith.

Jesus is fully God and fully man.

Not part God. Not God-like.

God Himself, wrapped in human skin, walking dusty roads, touching broken people, and changing everything.

Here's what the Bible says:

Colossians 1:15-16 tells us, "The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible... all things have been created through him and for him."

Jesus didn't just show up 2,000 years ago.

He's been here since before time began.

He created the stars you see at night. The oxygen you're breathing right now. The heartbeat in your chest.

And Hebrews 1:3 says He "sustains all things by his powerful word."

That means right now, this very second, Jesus is holding the universe together.

Including you.

Why Does This Matter?

Okay, so Jesus is God. That's a big theological statement.

But what does it mean for you on a random Friday in February when your inbox is overflowing and life feels heavy?

Everything.

Because if Jesus is just a teacher, His words are suggestions.

But if Jesus is God, His words are life itself.

When He says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28): that's not motivational advice.

That's the Creator of the universe inviting you into His presence.

When He says, "I am the way and the truth and the life" (John 14:6): He's not offering one path among many.

He's offering Himself.

The only One who can bridge the gap between broken humanity and a holy God.

Because here's the beautiful part: only God could save us. And only a human could represent us.

Jesus is both.

He Knows Your Name

Jesus isn't some distant cosmic force.

He's the God who became flesh so He could meet you right where you are.

Whether you're reading this on a lunch break, lying in a hospital bed, working a night shift, or hiding your faith in a place where it's dangerous to believe,

Jesus sees you.

He knows your struggles. Your questions. Your doubts.

And He didn't stay in heaven and shout instructions from a distance.

He came down.

Philippians 2:6-7 says, "Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being."

He experienced hunger. Exhaustion. Rejection. Pain.

So when you bring your mess to Him, He gets it.

He's not shocked. He's not disappointed.

He's the God who kneels beside you and says, "I know. I've been there. Let me carry this."

What Do We Do With This?

Here's the honest truth: you can't stay neutral on Jesus.

C.S. Lewis put it this way: Jesus is either a liar, a lunatic, or Lord.

If He's not God, then He's either deceiving us or He's deeply confused.

But if He is who He said He is: if He really is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, the King of kings,

Then everything changes.

Your Monday morning. Your biggest fear. Your deepest regret. Your impossible situation.

All of it can be laid at the feet of the One who holds the universe in His hands.

The One who loves you enough to die for you.

And the One who rose from the dead to prove He has power over everything: even death itself.

Your Move

So today, we're not just learning facts about Jesus.

We're being invited to respond.

To trust Him not just as a teacher, but as Lord.

To bring Him not just our questions, but our whole lives.

Because when you meet Jesus: really meet Him: you're not meeting a concept or a philosophy.

You're meeting the living God who's been waiting for you all along.
